Web Site: www.lairware.com/ultima3/
Status: Complete

Downloads:

  ·   v1.3 Demo (older MacOS) (2.8 MB)
  ·   v2.0 Demo (MacOS X) (4.5 MB)

This is an Apple Macintosh conversion of Ultima III: Exodus featuring 32-bit color, 3D-rendered fountains & shrines, a full musical score, and a Mac-friendly interface. Sadly, it is inaccessable to many unless you own or have access to a Macintosh; but you may be able to run it through a Macintosh emulator for the PC.

Ultima III for the Mac is shareware, so you will have to pay LairWare for the full version. The free version does not allow you to enter Ambrosia, thus barring you from completing the game.

Version 2.0 is the latest, designed to work best with MacOS X. The 1.3 version may work better for users of older 68K Macs or emulators while version 1.4 works best with MacOS 8 and 9.

Produced By: Philippe Goetz

  ·   Ultima 1 Java 0.0.9 (179.8 kB)

This is an attempt to port Ultima's 1-5 to Java, thus eliminating their platform dependance. Currently, only a U1 port is available for download.

A demo of U1 for Java is available at this link. It uses the original's data files and save games, so you must specify the path to your U1 installation in order for it to work.

Ultima I-V RPGs redeveloped in Java. Initial goal is a faithful remake of the Ultima 1 re-release by Origin in 1986 for the IBM PC that runs on any computer with a Java/SuperWaba VM and bitmapped graphics and, ultimately, on PDAs, Smartphones, GBA/DS.
